Whether you’re interested in becoming a professional truck driver or bus driver, we have the CDL training program for you! San Diego Truck Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training and classroom instruction to teach you the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the California CDL skills test, as well as a career as a professional CDL driver. San Diego Truck Driving School offers a variety of CDL training courses to suit the needs of our students.

Class A CDL Training Program

The Class A CDL Training program prepares students for entry-level truck driving careers both over-the-road (OTR) and locally. During truck driver training, students learn & develop the skills necessary to pass the California CDL skills test. Students receive job placement assistance while training which includes interview preparation and presentations from trucking company representatives interested in hiring San Diego Truck Driving School graduates!

What is CDL Class A License For:

Any combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 or more pounds provided the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. Driving careers that require a Class A CDL include Tractor-Trailer Drivers and Truck Trailer Combinations.

Class B CDL Training Program

Prepares students for employment as a passenger bus driver or straight truck driver (tow trucks, dump trucks, delivery trucks and utility trucks) in a local setting. In as little as 3 weeks, students are able to begin a career as a bus driver and Class B truck driver! Our career services department works closely with a variety of employers to get students, just like you, hired!

What is CDL Class B License For:

Any single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 GVWR pounds. Driving careers that require a Class B CDL include Ready Mix/Concrete Truck, Dump Truck Driver, and Bus Driver.

Entry Level Driver Training

As of February 7, 2022 individuals who desire to obtain a Commercial Drivers License need to first complete an Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) program before they will be permitted to take their CDL skills test. This is the first step in getting your CDL.

Possess a Valid Driver's License

Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license in order to be considered.

Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report

Applicants must have an acceptable motor vehicle report (driving record.)

Pass a Physical & Drug Screening

Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical and drug screening.
